We care so much about approval that we can't cope when we don't get it. We can sometimes, I suppose. But a lot of the time, we care too much.&lt;br&gt;
&lt;br&gt;
Furthermore, things like appearance are not objective, but subjective. It is personal. We can like clothing, we can dislike clothing, we can dislike clothing but understand that other people like it (or vise-versa). There is no official standard of what looks nice. Same with, say, eyebrows. Or make-up.&lt;br&gt;
